The Thai government has met and decided to significantly develop railway transportation in the Eastern parts of Thailand by 2022.

Assistant Prof.Manop stated that they aimed to develop Pattaya railway station as an ASEAN HUB station that will connect to all parts of Thailand such as Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Pattaya and Khon Kaen,  and other countries by 2047.
