Notes and Comments on the Mabprachan Lake area of Pattaya
Mabprachan Lake is in the east of Pattaya and is sometimes linked with the district of Pong.
Mabprachan has always been popular with Ex-Pats and Thais alike as it is out-of-town but close enough to drive in for the beaches, shopping and entertainment.
Mabprachan is located a within a 25-minute drive from central Pattaya but this can be achieved much quicker now with access onto the Chonburi-Pattaya Highway than leads to Sukhumvit Road.
Mabprachan is also popular because it offers good access to the international schools and industrial zones.
Only a few years ago you were limited for restaurants around the Lake with just Khun John’s RestaurantRendezvous and the Fisherman’s Rest; but in recent times we have seen an arrival of new eateries such as Bobby Grover’s Indian RootsRetox Darkside and Mabprachan Mediterranean Garden Resort.
There are numerous local Thai restaurants and a large food market in the area.
If golf is your game you will find Phoenix Golf Course and the 3 courses at Siam Country Club almost on your doorstep.
Convenience stores such as 7/11Family MartLotus Express and Mini BigC are now in the area. For larger food shopping Tops The ChilledMakro and Tesco Lotus are only a short drive away.
There is a good selection of Local and Bi-Lingual schools in the area with the main international schools being Tara Pattana International School and Regents International School.
There are no banks yet in Mabprachan but most stores mentioned above have ATM machines.
